James "Jim" Livengood was called to be the Church Administrator of Greenbrier Baptist Church in January, 2006. Jim retired from the Department of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency, in February 2003 with 41 years of Federal Service. Jim was a Telecommunications Specialist at Fort Belvior in Alexandria, VA.
Jim has been a member of Greenbrier since September 1975. He also serves the Greenbrier family as a deacon and Bible study teacher. You can find Jim at the church Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. While Jim enjoys the part of his position where he deals with the business of the church, he believes his excitement and real pleasure comes from working with the Greenbrier members and the community as he helps them with their pastoral care needs through the mornings when he is working.
Jim and his wife, Marlene, both are from Kittanning, PA. Jim has lived in the Northern Virginia area since May 1962. Marlene moved here in March, 1965 when they were married; they have been married for 45 years. They have one son and three grandchildren.
